Planning your charter

Compare northeast Sardinia starts

Portisco sits on the western side of the Gulf of Cugnana, opposite Porto Rotondo. Cannigione lies in the Gulf of Arzachena. These are distinct departure choices, even when you are considering the same dates and boat type. Olbia is another start: Spartivento places its base at Marina di Olbia on via Piovene.

For a Porto Rotondo offer, check which base appears in the booking. Yachting in Sardinia names Punta Nuraghe and Punta Asfodeli as separate charter bases there. Choosing a town still leaves a practical marina decision; match the stated handover point to your arrival arrangements.

Keep the south and southwest in your comparison

Cagliari is a southern departure option, with CS Charter locating its base on the Su Siccu seafront. Carloforte is on San Pietro in the Sulcis Archipelago off southwest Sardinia. Carloforte Sail Charter describes its main base there and a sailing-boat fleet. These examples help you compare different coasts without treating northeast Sardinia as the whole island.

Carloforte also adds an island journey stage. Delcomar lists links from Portovesme and Calasetta. Check the current ferry service and the onward meeting point before committing to a yacht's check-in. Airport arrival, an island crossing and the final handover are separate parts of the plan.

Discuss an island plan from the actual base

Official SardegnaTurismo material identifies La Maddalena, Caprera, Spargi, Santo Stefano, Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria within the northeastern archipelago. Sailitalia names the archipelago, Baja Sardinia and Porto Cervo as destinations from Cannigione. Use those relationships to explain the area you want to explore when requesting a shortlist.

A destination name does not settle a daily route, access to a protected site or the conditions for your dates. Ask about the proposed cruising area from the selected base and confirm the arrangements with the charter company. Keep that area explicit when comparing boats collected on different Sardinian coasts.

Compare the yacht and complete arrangement

Hold the dates and guest count steady as you compare the stated cabins, berths, equipment and charter mode. Then read skipper or crew scope, mandatory extras, marina payments and the refundable deposit beside the charter price. A boat category or regional label does not settle those details.

Charter Easy can help narrow the options by your route, group and budget, coordinate availability with the operator and clarify the terms before you decide. Give the team your preferred coast and any fixed arrival requirement so the shortlist starts with a workable departure.

Questions before you choose

  • Are Portisco and Porto Rotondo the same departure?

They are separate start choices on opposite sides of the Gulf of Cugnana. Confirm the exact marina on the selected yacht's offer rather than transferring arrangements from one name to the other.

  • How does Carloforte change the arrival plan?

Carloforte is on San Pietro. Delcomar lists ferry links with Portovesme and Calasetta, so plan that island stage and the final charter meeting point alongside your mainland arrival.

  • Is Cagliari an alternative to northeast Sardinia?

It is a separate southern departure choice. CS Charter's named Cagliari base is at Su Siccu; compare the actual boat and pickup arrangements for the coast you want.

  • Is a skipper included in a Sardinia charter?

Only when the particular offer explicitly includes that service. Clarify the skipper arrangement, accommodation and costs with the charter company before comparing the complete total.
