Planning your charter

Choose the Sicilian island area first

Visit Sicily distinguishes the Aeolian Islands northeast of Sicily from the Egadi off Trapani and Marsala in the west. Make that choice explicit in your enquiry. An attractive yacht in one part of Sicily does not make the two island groups interchangeable for your group's dates and planned departure.

Use the dedicated Aeolian comparison when Capo d'Orlando, Portorosa or Milazzo is the intended starting area. Keep this wider Sicily search for comparing coasts and deciding which departure fits. Neither page name confirms a complete itinerary or permission to visit every named island.

Compare the western starting points

Marsala and Trapani are separate choices. Sea Folk names its Marsala base at A.S. Mothia Porticciolo Turistico on Lungomare Mediterraneo, while Sail Adventures identifies Marina Levante on Via Ammiraglio Staiti in Trapani. Compare the actual handover location before choosing between otherwise similar offers.

Castellammare del Golfo has its own departure context: Spartivento lists a western-Sicily base there and names San Vito Lo Capo and the Egadi as destinations. It is a Sicilian start area, distinct from Castellammare di Stabia in the Gulf of Naples. Keep the full locality name in your travel and booking correspondence.

Read Palermo as its own departure plan

Sea Folk identifies a Palermo base at Marina della Cala on Via Filippo Patti. Visit Sicily also describes sailing from Palermo toward Mondello and Capo Gallo. This gives Palermo a coastal context of its own; ask about the route from the actual marina rather than assigning every Sicilian result the same island plan.

Palermo Airport's official information identifies a railway station in the terminal basement and directs travellers to the current train information. That covers one arrival stage. The onward journey and operator meeting point at the marina still belong in your booking plan.

Compare Sicily offers on the same basis

Use the same dates and guest count, then compare the individual yacht's cabins, berths, equipment and charter mode. Read the stated crew or skipper arrangement, mandatory extras, marina payments and refundable deposit separately from the charter price. Ask for unclear amounts or terms to be resolved before deciding.

Season descriptions also need their source kept in view. Visit Sicily tags its sailing itinerary collection for spring and summer; that is tourism context, not a weather or availability promise for your charter. Charter Easy can coordinate the selected yacht and dates with the operator and help clarify the full arrangement.

Questions before you choose

  • Should I compare the Egadi and Aeolian Islands as one route?

Treat them as different island-area decisions: the Egadi are off western Sicily, while the Aeolian Islands lie northeast. Confirm a proposed route from the specific base for your dates.

  • Are Marsala and Trapani interchangeable pickup points?

They have different operator bases. Sea Folk names A.S. Mothia in Marsala and Sail Adventures names Marina Levante in Trapani. The selected offer must state its own collection and return point.

  • Where can a Palermo charter start?

Sea Folk names Marina della Cala as its Palermo base. That is one operator example; confirm the exact marina and meeting instructions for the yacht you select.

  • Does a spring or summer itinerary tag guarantee sailing conditions?

No. It is a tourism classification. Use current sea and wind information and the operator's confirmation when planning the actual charter, rather than treating a season label as a forecast.
