Planning your charter

A Lake Zurich departure-area choice

Rapperswil-Jona is on Lake Zurich in the canton of St. Gallen, in northeastern Switzerland. That places the local boat search around a specific lake and town, with the shore setting forming part of the wider holiday decision.

Use the individual boat record to compare the proposed dates, accommodation, equipment and departure details. Confirm the departure and return arrangements with the operator as you develop the booking plan.

Plan the arrival and meeting separately

Switzerland Tourism describes train travel from Zurich as an arrival option for Rapperswil-Jona. Check current rail connections for your own journey, then arrange the onward part around the meeting instructions supplied for the selected boat.

The map provides a location listed by the provider to help orient your enquiry. Ask for the exact meeting point, reporting time and contact instructions before settling your arrival plan. Confirm the hire period and return arrangements at the same time.

Make room for the old town and lakeside

The old town's narrow streets and historic buildings, the castle above the town and the lakeside promenade give Rapperswil-Jona a distinct shore-side setting. Consider which of these interests you want to include when planning time around the boat hire.

Keep any shore visits as part of your own holiday arrangements. Check the current information for a particular building or visit before making a separate plan.

Look into the Rapperswil-Hurden wooden bridge

Regional tourism identifies the wooden footbridge between Rapperswil and Hurden over Lake Zurich and links it with the historical Way of St James pilgrimage. It adds a specific heritage subject to explore alongside the old town and waterfront.

If the bridge interests your group, check current visitor information when planning time ashore. Agree the boat's schedule and meeting arrangements independently so that both parts of your day are clear.

Check what the Rapperswil-Jona offer includes

Compare the actual boat's dimensions, cabins, berths and supplied equipment with your group's requirements, and ask for any missing information. Have the operator confirm the documents needed for this particular boat.

Bring the hire price, known mandatory charges, marina payments and refundable deposit into the quote comparison. Check whether a skipper is included, obligatory or optional and confirm the service cost. Charter Easy can help clarify these points with the charter company before you make a booking decision.
