Planning your charter

Mainland gateway or island departure?

Athens-area Alimos Marina and Lavrion are mainland departure choices for discussing the Cyclades. Lavrion is an Attica port on the Aegean side; Kea and Kythnos are island choices to discuss from there. These ports serve Cyclades trips without being Cyclades islands themselves.

An island departure starts the comparison elsewhere: Parikia on Paros and the Tourlos area on Mykonos are documented charter bases. Compare the offered pickup and return with your travel plan. Do not assume an island start includes a one-way return to the mainland.

Leave room for the forecast

The Cyclades include islands such as Paros and Naxos, but a list of islands is not a sailing schedule. Prioritise the stops you care about and discuss the passages, available days and return plan with the operator or skipper.

The Meltemi, also called the Etesians, can bring strong northerly wind episodes to the Aegean between May and October. That seasonal pattern is not a forecast for your week. Ask for route alternatives rather than treating every planned stop as fixed.
