Planning your charter

Use the Négra lock locality

Local tourism information identifies a boat-hire departure at the Négra lock in Montesquieu-Lauragais. This gives the short catalogue name Négra a useful place reference when planning the journey.

Ask for the boat's exact joining instructions rather than treating the lock name as a berth assignment. Confirm where the reception is and where the group should meet for handover.

Compare departures without mixing bases

Port Lauragais at Avignonet-Lauragais is a separate Canal du Midi departure. When comparing boats across the area, keep Négra's starting point and the alternative base clearly identified.

The chosen departure and return bases shape the travel arrangements. Check a different endpoint with the operator before planning a one-way holiday, and use current route advice for your boat and dates.

Choose a boat for your time aboard

Read the supplied accommodation and equipment information, including cabins, berths and WC details. Ask about any missing features that matter to the group before narrowing the shortlist.

Charter Easy can help clarify the offer with the operator. Compare the hire price with known mandatory extras and base payments, while keeping the security deposit separate from the trip budget.

Questions before you choose

  • Where is the Négra boat departure?

It is associated with the Négra lock at Montesquieu-Lauragais on the Canal du Midi. Confirm the exact reception and joining point for your boat.

  • Can I use Port Lauragais arrival directions for Négra?

They are separate bases. Use the instructions supplied for the selected Négra boat rather than those for Port Lauragais at Avignonet-Lauragais.

  • Will every boat follow the same canal itinerary?

Discuss the route for your selected boat, dates and departure and return bases. A route suggestion does not by itself confirm that itinerary as part of the offer.

  • What costs should I clarify before booking?

Check the hire price, mandatory extras, any payments at the base and the separate security deposit. Ask about inclusions or amounts that are not clear.
